Never go out...

Leviticus 6:12-13—Meanwhile, the fire on the altar must be keep burning; it must never go out! Each morning the priest will add fresh wood to the fire and arrange the burnt offering on it. 13 Remember, the fire must be kept burning on the altar at all times. It must never go out!

Spending time to be is very important to keep the "fire" of God's love and presence burning in our hearts.

Spend time with God today through prayer, reading your Bible, singing songs to Him, or just listening! Keep the fire burning and enjoy the healthy rhythm of Do Be Do Be Do,

DO BE DO BE DO

This morning for Part 2 in our weird series we talked about, "Without Being all you have left is a bunch of do do."

We work hard in our culture and pride ourselves on that fact. However, we often find ourselves exhausted, tired, empty and nothing left to give.

Jesus showed us a healthy rhythm of life. You can listen to the message on iTunes by searching Wyandotte Family Church.

A great resource to help with this topic is "Emotionally Healthy Spirituality" by Peter Schezzero. It is a practical guide how to become a "Human Being" and not just a "Human Doing." It if filled with practical applications and will move you toward the healthy rhythm.

Another great resource is "Celebration of Disciplines" by Richard Foster. This book will help you explore and grow in areas of BEING with Jesus on a daily basis.

It's an honor to serve as your pastor!

Grunt in Church

At Wyandotte Family Church we truly believe in creativity, excellence and relevance in communicating God's word and the experience of church.

The past year and a half we have had the privilege to have Terry Kowalski lead our Grunt Team. He is currently leading one of our D3 Home Based Connection Groups and will continue to serve on the Pavement Posse in the parking lot. However, he is going to be stepping down as director of the Grunt Team.

The past year and a half we also have had the same 4-6 people come for set up. These faithful men & women of God have been used mightily and we value them and appreciate them greatly.

NOW IT’S TIME FOR YOU TO GRUNT IN CHURCH!! We are completely overhauling the Grunt team and launching something NEW. Here is the goal.

GOAL #1--Develop 2 Grunt Teams (#1 & #2) who rotate every other month. That way each Grunt team will set up & tear down and see an entire series through. This will allow people to have a month off and be able to stay fresh.

GOAL #2--We already have 1 person who is willing to help lead team #1 so we are praying and looking for someone who will lead team #2.

GOAL #3--Recruit 6 new people who will commit to every other month.

Simply email info@wyandottefamily.com with a yes to joining the grunt team and we can jot your name down to be contacted. You can also experiment and give it a try for a few months. You be surprised at how fun GRUNTING really is.

We have had a great month going through the series Gifts! (By the way you can listen to the messages on iTunes (subscribe to our podcasts) or at our website http://www.wyandottefamily.com/listen.html )

Week one we talked about God has created you to be unique. We are supposed to be different.

Week two we looked at the various natural gifts that God has given us. You can read
Exodus 26-31. I would encourage you to read those 6 chapter and write down how many different natural gifts & skills it took to build the Tabernacle. You can also read Romans 12:6-8.
God has given you a natural gift.

Week 3 we looked at supernatural (Spiritual) gifts. You can read about them in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11. We talked about how we want to be a church that is supernatural but not strange. (Thank you Pastor Hubbard for that quote. That helped encapsulate my entire sermon in one phrase)

If you haven't taken advantage of the "Let us Help You Open Your Gifts This Christmas" campaign, I encourage you to so. This weekend is the last chance to turn in a gift certificate and get a free Strength Finders 2.0 book.

Spiritual HUB

Last month series "Family Ties" was a series that we can revisit and listen to time and time again (By the way you can on iTunes or at our website http://www.wyandottefamily.com/listen.html )

God designed the family to be the main environment where spiritual growth happens. From learning how to pray, worship and developing a missional heart, the family is the spiritual hub for growth.

We tried to give practical resources and support all month to empower parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles to be empowered to lead their families. You can be a spiritual leader in your family. You can show your family who God is and be His hands and feet! Keep growing and learning and don't give up!

PS. The family adventure is something you can do often with your own family. Better yet get together with another family and do your own family adventure :)

Love loses itself

Julie & I just had our 3rd child almost 4 months ago. There is something powerful, mystical and amazing when it comes to babies. We love babies with all of our hearts. We get up in the middle of the night and lose sleep to feed them and change their diapers. We protect them and keep them warm. We do everything we can to love and take care of them.

Did you ever think of why? What have babies ever done to deserve that kind of love? Nothing! (except be adorable).

That kind of love is the kind of love our heavenly Father gives us. A love that is sacrificial and a love that is unconditional.

We are great at giving that kind of love to babies however we are not so good at giving that kind of love to others that have grown up. We get hurt, offended, betrayed, used, neglected and abandoned. Our heart grows cold and we build walls.

I pray that we return back to the kind of love that God calls us to live and give. A love that is unconditional and a love that is sacrificial. When we begin to love others this way we will see much fruit!
